Professional Learning Communities: Work and Impacts!

Participating on the grade level teams was an integral component to sustainable change throughout the schools. Whether it was working on Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs) for individual students or analyzing grade level assessment data, the impacts were great. The environment was ideal for professional development sessions and powerful brainstorming ideas that inspired instruction.

Collaboration was at its best in the team's meeting room where there were resources and a data wall to chart student growth.

An example of a behavioral strategy to gain engagement of students who were struggling. Implementing roles and responsibilities gave the students a more structured purpose and this was the strategy's tracking tool.

An action plan was created with the Building Leadership Team, Grade Level Team and the Action Planing Team to increase the efficacy of Professional Learning Communities at the school.
