While many cultural customs of Albania were inspiring, beautiful and full of history, one custom was littering the streets and destroying the environment. A major issue was awareness on behalf of the citizens and teaching their youth proper disposal habits, the underlying issue was a lack of systematic garbage pickup on the city's part. The march rounded up students, posters were carried and garabage bags were used to pick up trash along the way. The objective was to show the citizens how important their environment was, but also to attempt to send a message to the elected officials that a system needs to be put in place.

To create awareness, students and I walked in the city of Vlora, collecting trash and informing people of trash disposal best practices.
